General guidelines for using the online equipment reservation system
Time should be reserved to fall within a block between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. Evenings and weekends can also be reserved by those previously authorized to do so. Please make cancellations at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so may result in charges being accessed to you for unused scope time. Exceptions to the above will be made under special circumstances and by arrangement with BEML staff.
To gain access of the online equipment reservation:
BEML users who have been trained on the Nova NanoSEM or the Tecnai TEM can reserve time slots on the microscope online via Google Calendar. To use this Google Calendar-based reservation system, either a gmail-based uconn.edu (the email type UCONN students have; faculty and staff with exchange UCONN email please see note in the instructions below) or a personal gmail account is needed. Upon completion of the microscope training with BEML staff, the Google Calendar of the microscope will be shared with the user at the email address they provide.
To ensure that users can only modify their own reserved time slots, they are only given the “view detail” access to the microscope calendar. Please follow the instructions below to add, modify, or cancel a time slot on the microscope calendar.
